At Curbside Giveback, our approach is centered on dignity, responsibility, and impact. We understand that not everyone is able to move heavy items or transport donations themselves—especially seniors and families in transition.

Our insured team handles all lifting, sorting, and transportation. Items are thoughtfully redistributed through trusted community partners whenever possible. When donation pickup fees apply, those funds directly support transportation, labor, and logistics—allowing more usable goods to stay within the community and out of landfills.

Curbside Giveback is a community-focused donation program operated by Curbside Property Services in Flat Rock, Michigan. We help families, seniors, veterans, and local organizations responsibly donate usable items while keeping them out of landfills.

Our team provides professional, in-home pickup services for furniture, household goods, and other donatable items—removing the physical and emotional burden that often comes with downsizing, estate cleanouts, and life transitions.

Curbside Giveback does not currently offer free pickup services.

Our pickups are professional, insured, in-home services that include lifting, sorting, transportation, and coordination with trusted community partners. Pickup fees help cover labor, vehicles, fuel, and logistics—allowing more usable items to stay in the community and out of landfills.

We are actively working to establish a Giveback Assistance Fund that may help reduce or fully cover pickup costs for qualifying individuals and families in need. Availability will be limited and based on funding and eligibility.

We accept many types of gently used furniture and household goods, depending on condition and partner needs.

To ensure items can be responsibly reused:

  • Items should be clean, safe, and in usable condition

  • Furniture with significant pet hair, strong odors, or visible pet-related stains is rarely accepted by partner organizations

  • Items that cannot be donated may still be removed and responsibly recycled or disposed of when possible Which typically include all Bedding, Some exercise equipment and all Pianos.

Our team will assess items at pickup and do our best to place them where they can be most helpful.

Donated items are redistributed through local nonprofit partners, community organizations, and families in need whenever possible.

Items may be:

  • Placed with local nonprofits, churches, shelters, and community partners

  • Provided directly to families, seniors, veterans, or individuals in transition

  • Routed to reuse programs or secondary partners when appropriate

Not all items can be accepted by every organization. When an item isn’t suitable for donation, we make responsible decisions to recycle, repurpose, or dispose of it properly, keeping as much as possible out of landfills.

The easiest way to request a pickup quote is by booking online, where our built-in pricing calculator can give you an estimate based on your items.

When booking, please use the notes section to let us know:

  • Any large or extra-large items (such as couches, bookcases, or appliances)

  • If items are located inside the home or Garage

This helps our team arrive prepared and provide accurate pricing before pickup.
